Join Our Board!

Creative Therapies seeks board members with an interest in the therapeutic arts.

Creative Therapies is a registered charity and we’ve been providing therapeutic arts programmes for 22 years, supporting and promoting the well-being of the most vulnerable people in our communities through the use of music, dance, drama and visual arts.

Our team of therapists and professional artists take a person-centred approach, unlocking creative potential in supportive and healing environments - from hospitals to secure units and schools to community centres.

We are seeking to strengthen our Board by appointing people who can broaden and enhance the skills and experience of the existing members.

What we need:

We are seeking candidates with an interest in the role of creativity and arts therapies’ in building resilience and transforming lives of children and young people, experiencing emotional and psychological challenges. We are keen to hear from all candidates, particularly those with skills and experience in any of the following:

  • HR

  • Social work

  • Education

  • Health

  • Kinship care and recovery

  • Communications and/or marketing

  • Arts therapies

All Board members should be able to attend quarterly board meetings at our central Glasgow office. In addition, we ask trustees to attend an annual board development day, and some events, where possible. They are voluntary positions supported by the reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses.

If you are interested in joining us, please write to Denise Wylie, Chair of the Board, at chair.creativetherapies@gmail.com by 5PM on Thursday 26 July 2018 with your up to date CV and a covering letter outlining why you would like to become a Board member and the skills and experience that you will bring.

Candidates will be short listed by the current board members and invited to meet with members of the board and the Director to discuss board membership. The successful candidates will then be invited to join the board and will take up their position at the next full board meeting.
