Glasgow Children's Hospital

Since 1996, Creative Therapies have been working in partnership with the NHS and Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity to deliver arts therapies and artists residencies in clinical settings.

Our creative arts programmes aim to look beyond the illness and see the child. We support the well-being of patients, families and staff, and provide stimulating experiences that transform the hospital experience.

Our work is recognised, respected and becoming renowned nationally and internationally. We regularly exhibit works made in art therapy and currently have two exhibitions at the Royal Hospital for Children in 2018.

Ward 4 (National Child Psychiatric Unit)

The Arts Therapies have a vibrant and well established presence in this unit, with 1:1 and group Art Therapy sessions available.

We recognise the importance of reducing stress and promoting distraction in creating a positive healing environment. Through Art Therapy we can help children explore and transform emotional and psychological difficulties through creative expression.

We have delivered programmes in four wards at The Royal Children’s Hospital, the National Child Psychiatric Unit (Ward 4), Cardiology, Undiagnosed Pain and Neurology.
